However, I ended up making more than I actually need for Christmas presents. I was just having so much fun! And towards the end I think I was getting pretty good - there's a pretty big difference between the first, clumsy and simple attempts to the ones I made last night.
And I love making them. Unlike pixel art, I have something I can hold in my hand when I'm done. I can wear it if I want to. I can hang it off my cell phone or keychain.
So I'm wondering, is there a viable market for this stuff? Should I try selling it? At least then I could afford more supplies, since I'm finding the start-up costs for this hobby are a bit high. Would people actually buy handmade jewelry off the Internet?
